
On February 28, the Georgian Association of Oncological Urology held another large-scale conference on the topic of “Modern Management of Prostate Cancer.”
The event covered the latest innovations and approaches in prostate cancer screening and management, including:
▪️ The current practice of prostate cancer screening in Georgia;
▫️ Micro-ultrasound (29MHz) for early cancer detection;
▪️ Active surveillance strategies for tumors;
▫️ The advancement of robotic surgery in Georgia and the Caucasus;
▪️ Robotic ultrasound thermal ablation (RUTA) for the prostate;
▫️ Micro-ultrasound-based transperineal/targeted “fusion” biopsy as the “gold standard.”
⚕️ The conference was attended by 100 leading specialists, including urologists, clinical oncologists, radiation therapists, and radiologists, who shared their experiences with one another.
